INTERNATIONAL MUSICIAN PERFORMS AT AMBLE LINKS

4th July 2013

On Friday 28th June the children and staff at Amble Links were treated to an impromptu concert from touring Dutch musician, Tim Vantol, during lunchtime. A very unusual experience for all of us!

He was on tour with Joe William Davis from Lincoln (formerly of a band called That's Not Me) who now lives in Germany, and Gaz Mackie, who was responsible for selling merch on the tour
• It was Joe and Tim that played the gig for the children
• Played the show in Newcastle at Teasy Does It in Heaton, Newcastle, organised by Lillie Oliver's dad Aaron Oliver, 23, Antique Furniture Restoration Tutor from Warkworth, and his girlfriend, 26-year-old Kerri James, Communications Officer for the QE Hospital in Gateshead (from Newcastle)
• Tim is 28-years-old from Hoofddorp near Amsterdam in Holland and lives with his girlfriend Maike Klotz
• Tim has played in bands since the age of 16, but has been writing and performing solo for the last four years.
Tim said about the show at Amble Links First School: "It was the most nerve wracking gig I've ever played, and probably the most unusual! I've played in front of thousands of people before, but playing in front of the school was very different, but a lot of fun. It was great to play for the kids at the school, and I've told Lillie that the next time I come to visit we're going to play guitar together so she needs to practice a song for when I come back to the north east. Hopefully I've inspired a few of the children to pick up a guitar, or any instrument and try writing their own music!"
Aaron Oliver, Lillie's dad said: "After the gig in Newcastle I was chatting to Tim about Lillie, and the idea came about of visiting her at school so she could meet Tim, whose music she loves. When we got to Amble Links, it turned into an impromptu gig for the whole school over lunch, it was a really special moment and one I hope Lillie remembers forever.":
